Bayard Family South Florida Chapter Hosts Inaugural Meeting

One morning, the WhatsApp message system buzzed to life with an idea: should the cousins of South Florida meet? Within a few hours, the idea had transformed into a concrete plan, complete with a date, time, and location.

On the beautiful sunny afternoon of March 13th, more than a dozen cousins gathered at a restaurant called El Toro Loco in Miami. The excitement was palpable as they came together to meet and, as Bayards do best, talk and eat!

As they enjoyed lamb, beef, chicken, and seafood, accompanied by all the trimmings, the cousins embarked on what they hoped would become a quarterly tradition of connecting through family gatherings. Conversations flowed seamlessly, touching on family news, updates from Haiti, politics, and a wide array of other topics, making time fly by faster than a Brightline bullet train racing to its last stop.

Initially, Monique Larreur Gors and Serge Rocourt were thought to be the organizers of this delightful get-together. However, both pointed fingers at the other, seemingly not wanting to take responsibility in case the Bayard gathering took a turn towards a heated Haitian debate in a public setting. Fortunately, that scenario never materialized.

After lunch, Micheline Georges graciously invited everyone to her home to enjoy coffee and dessert, as all attendees promised to plan the next gathering soon.
